Hypnotherapy has lots of stereotypes due to the hypnotist entertainment shows and what has been seen on TV. I would like to help everyone understand what hypnotherapy is, what it is not and how it can help you with certain areas of your life. Review the Q&A below to gain this clarity.

Hypnotherapy & NLP FAQ's:

Q:

In what state will the client be in while hypnotized? Awake or Asleep?

Q:

During hypnosis, who is in control?

Q:

What does Hypnotherapy cover?

Q:

Can I make you cluck

like a chicken?! Hahaha

Q:

What is the difference between between Hypnotherapy & NLP?

AWAKE! In fact, the client will be placed in what is called an Alpha state, which is a state of being in between sleep and awake. This allows the barrier between the conscious mind and subconscious mind to open up, so the Hypnotherapist can speak directly to the subconscious as the subconscious effects our emotions, actions and feelings 99.994% of the time.

YOU are! The client is in total control & can hear EVERYTHING! As much as you may have seen people do wild things on stage for Stage shows, (I'll explain further on another Q&A), you will have control. Your subconscious will not allow you to do anything that is immorally proper to your subconscious mind. Also, you give the details to your Hypnotherapist of what you desire and what goals you'd like to achieve for your session, and it is repeated to you through the hypnosis. These are YOUR words repeated back

There are two hypnotizing methods that I use for my clients, which are hypnotherapy & NLP. Hypnotherapy is targeted for smoking, weight loss & action-based self-development only. NLP covers trauma, limiting beliefs, energy clearing & releasing the past.

Well, if I were a Hypnotist that wanted to host a stage show then YES, but I am NOT! I am a Hypno-Therapist that takes her title very seriously. As much as it may be beneficial for others to have a good laugh out of it, it is not beneficial to you - the client. I am here to serve your needs ONLY in whatever problem you present to me as a client.

Those that are able to do wild and eccentric things on stage are your overly ambitious extroverts and life of the party type people that are able to enter a deep trance. There are 3 indicators of a light, medium and deep trance, and it would require them to be able to enter a deep trance in order for this to work. However, again, they still will never do anything that is immoral to their values and beliefs.

Hypnotherapy is discussed with the client prior to the hypnotic state, so the hypnotherapist knows what to feed to the subconscious mind. The hypnotherapist does the communication, while the client remains in the state of mind that allows subconscious changes.

NLP is not actually hypotherapy. NLP is more of a collaborative meditation for the subconscious. Clients are brought into a meditative state, so the hypnotherapist & client can work on what they would like to shift together. NLP is one of the top most effective techniques for subconscious shifting.
